Based on the most recently available information, sales of the Top 100
Foodservice Operators in Europe grew by 5% in 2004 to €67.3 billion compared with €64.1
billion a year earlier.

The Top 10 remained the same in 2004 and although all showed positive growth,
their rate of increase fell behind that of the remaining companies in the Top 100.
However, currency fluctuations distort growth figures and also explain why total
sales for any specific period change from year to year.
For the first time this year, we have included all liquor sales (and not just
liquor served with food as in previous years). This explains the enhanced
importance of groups such as Mitchells & Butlers and Whitbread:
